While it has been available online for a few days now, Harmonix finally officially unveiled the full Rock Band 3 setlist. Keep in mind that Rock Band 3 supports both keyboard support and 3 part vocals as you look over the tracks. After Rock Band 2 I was feeling the music game genre burnout, but Rock Band 3 has me excited once more with its Pro Mode and keyboard. Here’s the full list of songs.

Songs with an asterisk will also be on the Nintendo DS version of Rock Band 3.

Obviously DLC tracks will be announced later, but it looks like a strong start with the songs already on the retail disc.

I’m getting pretty excited about the song lineup and the additional gameplay tweaks that Beatles: Rock Band is going to bring. Those three-part harmony songs are going to be pretty interesting in a party setting. Apologies to everybody that comes over to my house…I’m a terrible singer.

Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP is getting a bit of attention lately in the press, and today Harmonix chose to announce the full track listing for the game as well as the first 10 DLC tracks that will be made available. Straight from the Harmonix PR, here’s the track listing.

And, here are the first 10 tracks that will be made available for DLC on the Rock Band Store:

While these are pretty much re-hashes from the console games, it is still  a pretty strong track listing all the same. I’m just not sure that I am really interested in playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero without a guitar peripheral. Even the DS has the little attachment that fakes it pretty well, but you never know, this game could turn out quite well.

Yes, for the limited edition of Rock Band Beatles, you will be paying as much as it costs to get a brand new console. The package sounds cool, but there’s no way that the majority of people out there are going to opt for this version of the game. Either way, here’s what you get in the package:

• Microphone and Microphone Stand
• and additional special content

Man, for that price I would half expect Paul McCartney to be working that bass and singing backup while you’re playing any of the other instruments. I don’t know what the “additional special content” is, but I swear I’m going to kick some nuts if it happens to be extra tracks that you can’t get otherwise. I’m really, really excited for this, but I better be able to get the full experience by just buying the disc version.

Of all the complete albums that have been released on Rock Band so far, this is by far my most anticipated release. On Tuesday for Xbox 360 owners and Thursday for PS3 owners, Pearl Jam’s Ten will be available for download. For those youngsters that don’t know how great of an album Ten was, hit up your torr–er, uh, Amazon.mp3 and get the album and give it a listen. Nirvana who? Here are the tracks that will be made available either as a whole or individually:

Ugh, after swearing off Best Buy not too long ago I find myself with a good and valid reason for shopping there again. If you buy the re-release of Pearl Jam’s Ten (and you should!) from Best Buy, you’ll get a download code to use with Rock Band to get three free DLC tracks. The songs you’ll get are “State of Love and Trust”, “Brother”, and “Alive”.

If you’re a Pearl Jam fan, you’re probably going to be getting the album anyway, so you might as well bebase yourself and get it from Best Buy at the same time so you can pick up the free bonus tracks. You can get the free tracks by purchasing either the Super Deluxe Edition (I swear, it’s really called that) or the regular release.

Yeah, that’s a direct quote. In a recent article where Forbes did a profile on Bobby Kotick, the big boss of Activision, they take a random shot at EA/MTV Games/Harmonix in an attempt to continue their pumping up of Bobby. Here’s the direct quote:

EA also teamed with MTV to sell Rock Band, a shameless knockoff of Guitar Hero that added drums, bass and a microphone to the world of make-believe rock stars.

Now, we’ve had issues with Forbes in the past where they’ve either tired to capitalize on a hot topic in gaming or to stir up controversy for hits, but this one just smacks of ignornace. First of all, Harmonix created Guitar Hero, so it would be hard for them to “knockoff” their own creation. Secondly, Rock Band took a concept that was growing stagnant and evolved it into something much bigger and much more exciting. If anything, Guitar Hero: World Tour is a “shameless knockoff” of Rock Band, but we’re not about to go there right now. Oh, and for the record Forbes, Activision isn’t the most successful publisher in videogames today, that title belongs to Nintendo. Fact checking, folks.

Sweet! In March, the same day that the reissue for the album hits, Pearl Jam’s album Ten will be available for download for Rock Band 2. Below is the full press release.
