Software Top Ten

  • Wii – Wii Fit w/ Balance Board – 644,000
  • 360 – Street Fighter IV – 446,000
  • PS3 – Street Fighter IV – 403,000
  • Wii – Wii Play w/ Remote – 386,000
  • PS3 – Killzone 2 – 323,000
  • Wii – Mario Kart Wii w/ Wheel – 263,000
  • 360 – Call of Duty: World at War – 193,000
  • DS – Mario Kart DS – 145,000
  • DS – New Super Mario Bros. – 144,000
  • Wii – Guitar Hero: World Tour – 136,000

Until there’s actually something surprising, I really don’t have much more to contribute to the NPD discussion month to month. I guess it is nice that Street Fighter IV sold nearly 850,000 copies, which means it’s surely over a million by now. Killzone 2 came out a little slow, but we’ll see if it has legs.

    I am probably going to sound like an idiot here, but how is it that there are 750,000 Wiis sold, but WiiPlay is only half that? Shouldn’t it be about the same since WiiPlay is already packaged with the console?

    WiiPlay isn’t packaged with the console, but typically about 1/2 to 3/4 of people buying Wiis will get the game because it is packaged with a controller. They figure if they’re going to get a second controller that they might as well get the game included for en extra $10.
