Gamestop reveals their top holiday sellers, overall sales up 22%

So while most retail places were getting kicked in the teeth over the holidays, Gamestop was doing quite well with an increase of over 22% in overall sales. The game store claimed that the increase was due to strong sales of new games, and they also revealed their top 5 sellers for the holiday season. So, here they are:

  1. Call of Duty: World at War
  2. Guitar Hero World Tour
  3. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
  4. Gears of War 2
  5. Wii Fit

It’s not that surprising, but given how insanely difficult it was to try and find Mario Kart Wii during the holidays, I’m surprised it didn’t edge out Wii Fit.

    It is possible that Mario Kart Wii outsold Wii Fit in number of units because the rank is based on dollars made not number of units sold.
