Good episode. It’s about time someone addressed the issue of cheating I remember on MGO what people would do to get a good rank. Do you think ranking systems entice people to cheat?
Absolutely. I believe it entices them to cheat, but I also think they do it just to be jerks. You know the whole “internet+anonymity+crowd =” equation right? Surely that alone is enough motivation for those lowlifes.
The funny thing about people who cheat to raise ranks is that it screws them over in the end. In games like Halo 3 where people were cheating to get their levels up quickly, they found that they were suddenly only matched up against other high level players and they weren’t good enough to compete with them since they only knew how to win by cheating.
A real player whether high rank or mid level will always expose a high rank cheater.
