The Stupid Gamer Podcast #25 – Used For a Small Discount

On November 11, 2008, in Podcasts, by Jeff Rivera

Much like last week, news is scarce, but there are a few things worth talking about as Brad prepares for the World of Warcraft expansion and I keep plugging away at my stack of review games. Here are the show notes:

  • Snacks
  • World of Warcraft expansion
  • Microsoft dropping the banhammer
  • Michael Capps wants to put an end to secondhand sales
  • What we’ve been playing

I generally like to buy new if possible. Mainly for the smaller risk of getting a damaged copy. Of course with PS3 games costing 60 bucks I don’t have the money so if there was another game on the PS3 that I wanted (outside of LBP and Mirror’s Edge) I may be more likely to buy used.

But used game stores have been a boon for a resurgence of my classic game collection. The last four months I’ve bought 23 used games for the NES, SNES, GB, N64 and Genesis (which I bought a used console for). Not at a gamestop though but a local statewide (ND) used game franchise. They also sell current gen used games, I wonder if what’s his face would be pissed at them to.
