Call of Duty 4 was much better than Call of Duty 3 for two main reasons: It was developed by Infinity Ward, and it finally was set in another time rather than World War II. So as new details emerge regarding Call of Duty 5 in UK’s Official Xbox Magazine, I for one am more than a little upset by the decision to allow Treyarch (Call of Duty 3) handle the series and to take it back to WWII.

This has been rumored for a while, but after the major success of Call of Duty 4, I think most fans expected that Activision would do the right thing and keep the series with Infinity Ward. I hate to be a pessimist, but it seems like we’ll have to wait for Call of Duty 6 to get a proper and high quality follow up to Call of Duty 4.

I’m more interested in that they got the COD4 engine to work on the Wii and wonder how that will turn out.
