Because nobody asked for it…bad gamer tattoos!

On March 31, 2008, in Funny, Stupid, by Jeff Rivera

I’m not here to judge anybody. Well, maybe I am, but hidden here behind the wall of Internet anonymity, I feel the need to call some people out for their poor decision making. There are things in life that you do that you later regret, and I have pretty much no reservations in saying that each and every person you see below will at some point wish they hadn’t permanently defaced their bodies. So, without further delay, here are a few of the worst gaming tattoos you’ll ever see.

Note: There’s no nudity, but by nature of what tattoos are there will be plenty of skin, so I’m putting the images (after the first one) below the fold. Those at work can decide if their comfortable or not with the amount of skin for themselves. Get past the jump, however, and you’re in for a real treat!

powerglove.jpg

“It’s so bad!” He said it, not me. Wait, actually, the tattoo itself said it. So we have two possible scenarios here, either the guy thought that the Power Glove was so terrible and laughable that it deserved a shoutout on his arm, or else he thought it was so bad (bad meaning good) that it deserved a shoutout on his arm. This, my friends, is just plain bad (you figure out what I mean).

By the way, I know it’s a quote from The Wizard, I’m just having some fun.

Click the link below for more! You know you want to.

129780-5.jpg

I’m here looking for the man that shot my ‘pa! Now we can safely assume that this guy hasn’t had to deal with his wedding night jitters yet, but c’mon, this isn’t going to make that day (should it ever come) any more comfortable.

konamicode.jpg

Hey, it’s the Konami code! This makes sense, though, because in 2096 when we stop using paper, it’s the best way to take the code with you everywhere you go.

zeldatattoo.jpg

A Legend of Zelda tramp stamp…classy! Too bad the artist messed up and it should have looked more like this:

62fbl11.jpg

She got it right, but at the same time she still got it all so wrong. For all you Zelda fanboys thinking this is hot, I don’t need the angry emails.

sephiroth.jpg

It’s like a rule that Sephiroth and/or Cloud Strife have to be used for stupid purposes, and tattoos are no exception. I’m sure the FFVII team is pretty touched when they see their characters transformed from digital representations into absolute pure physical poetry.

atarivb5.jpg

She’s hardcore for two reasons: Atari (old-school baby!) and this isn’t a tattoo. Nope, she cut her skin away to create this. What a champ!

neck.jpg

Game Over, alright…FOR YOUR DATING LIFE! Hahahahahardly a good move, bud.

200610201339-pix1.jpg

Both arms, huh? Nice. Oh, and I think this image might have appeared on BMEZINE.com or something, I’m not sure, but I have the finest research teams in India working on it. They’ll give a full report soon. I’m told they’ve gone through several cups of coffee and maybe even a box of doughnuts by now.

boobtoos.jpg

This one’s fresh, it still has the vitamin E all over it, but it’s already too late to back out now. I’m sure she’s pretending to like it and it’s still a pretty funny joke, but come August she’ll be wearing turtle necks. “Hot? Me? No, it’s freezing out here! These summers in Phoenix can be quite chilly!”

facestars.jpg

Stars on the face, Boo on the arm, and two of the longest “eyebrows” the world has ever seen. She’s a keeper! (Note to girl picture above: Don’t beat me up.)

back.jpg

Too many girls getting Zelda tattoos. Well, any tattoo is pretty bad, but the full back special should probably be spoken out against in schools.

chest.jpg

In a tribute to old-school and arcade gaming, this guy went all out. Really it’s not the tattoo we should be admiring here, it’s the hairy nipples.

mario-tattoo.jpg

“Where should I put the tattoo? Where should I put it? Oh, I know! I’ll put it behind my ear! Oh, but of course I’ll have to gauge my ear so people looking down at me from an angle can get an unobstructed view. I can’t have lobe getting in the way.” Really now, if you’re going to get the tattoo, can’t you just stick it on your arm, back, or leg?

why.jpg

Gross. This is awful, but mostly because it’s not even resembling the shape of a real Pac-Man maze. You know, I have about 20 more images saved, but it might be best to just stop here. This is getting beyond disturbing.

Are you fucking kidding me??? I love how the world gets sooooo bum hurt about other peoples blogs.. C’mon we all got our own opinion.. Stop getting so hurt about the damn tattoos. When should you care what other people think anyways, I sure as hell hope you get a tattoo that you’ll like.

God Damn People… It’s a fucking blog ;) You don’t like it, then go somewhere else. It’s not that hard of a concept. Nice job on the blog dude;)..

  • http://www.ebay.com dave

that would be an ecumenical matter

  • laterface

One of the cardinal rules of tattoos is that you should never–ever get any kind of character on your person. One of the triforce ones looked okay for a tramp stamp, but the rest looked incredibly lame. You’re only in your twentys for so long, and there is a finite number of gamestops on this planet that’ll hire a lame-o

  • JB

Dude the one Smash bros tattoo is not both arms, its a SLEEVE, and its very obvious that its the same arm.

  • reicheru

seriously what’s so wrong with gaming tattoos? I’ll admit some of these look awful, especially the Atari one! but I have to say I liked the Nintendo one.
and I think it’s so stereotypical for people to say “look at the paleness of their skin”, skin colour does not define whether you game alot or not.

if someone wants to get a tattoo that’s up to them, and so is what the tattoo is of, ever watch miami ink? some American woman got a tattoo of her piece of cheese on toast that “apparently” has the face of the Virgin Mary on it. That’s stupid, and the tattoo just looked like a mass of sick on her chest. That is a stupid tattoo, compare it with some of these and you’ll realise that they’re well done, and I think they’re very creative

  • O.o

In response to everyone that has said “photoshopped” in a comment on this page:

    You’re photoshopped!

    Thank you. That is all.

    Go Go Gadget Stumble!

  • piercedguy

Yeah so just to inform a couple people that say people with Tats cant get jobs or we will be ashamed of them later in life
    1 I have lots of tats and I clear 100k a year
2 More people have them than you think
3 my grandfather a ww2 vet had lots of tats and sure the were not as crisp and clear as when he got them in his 20′s But who care besides you not him or me so how about you pipe down on things you don’t have a clue about it just makes you look ignorant.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL THE INTERNET IS BIG IF YOU DON’T LIKE LOOKING AT TATTOO PICTURES MOVE ON FOR FUCKS SAKE

  • stumbled

I liked the tattoos although the badly drawn ones were crap. I would get one if it looked good enough to carry around with me for the rest of my life (or rather until I decompose or get it lazered off) Anyways, people arguing over the internet bores me. Bon voyage ^.^

  • Rafe

I liked some of them but, I like games XD

stumbled O_O finding ALOT of wierd things…in all honesty i’m nearly to scared to “Stumble!” again…oh well

    Peace out~

(yup, i realize that I just wasted my own time and yours by posting this very meaningless reply :))

  • steve

fuckin jackasses.. dont care how much you love a gamr.. theyre all pathetic !
most are shit quality and your forever scarred by an icon that is nothing more than a lame statement saying how much you love duckhunt
    Sooooooooooooooooooooo sad

  • Andy

Eh, you know. Its all about what you like and what youre into. Im in college majoring in Video Game Design and I actually have a tattoo of a pinup girl holding a video game controller. I’m sure some of those mean alot to those people, and when you say they will regret it, they are probably going to look back and think about that time in their life.

  • Jen

    This was entertaining! =)

  • This is nothing

I got my peep tattooed to look like a joystick so really i’m the most hardcore gamer of them all!!!!!!!!!!! Muahahahahahahah bow before my awesomeness!!!!!!!! Stumbled this!

To Integument: While I appreciate the fact that you are aware of grammar and possess an extensive vocabulary, your rather demeaning post was inappropriate.
Some of these tattoos were actually pretty amazing. Some were not so amazing, but that’s just my personal dislike of tramp-stamps.

  • Charlie

Whatever you might say about tramp stamps, a legend of zelda one is well hot!

  • http://adfadfad jhvihvi

    Charlie is right. That’s hot

  • jomoma

lol yes, they will regret this… most of them, anyway. In 30 years, (if they haven’t gotten it laser-removed or something already) when it all sags and the color fades, they won’t feel the same way as when they first got it. :P

  • Amused and Disinterested

I find it amusing that McD21 wanted to say mean things… but felt that censorship was necessary. Way to be sensitive to people who don’t like words like “F***ing” and “Sh*ts.” Now we know you really care.

  • Anonymous

seriously… i thought the commentary on the pictures was amusing… but all these comments everyone is leaving is possibly funnier.
i think we can all agree that sarcasm is hard to follow when you read them… and the whole point of it being posted is to be funny – really to the one who posted it. he doesn’t give a crap if you are offended by what he posted.
it’s like if i made a page devoted to making fun of mullets. if i were to do that every “cracker” and “white trash vixen” with the internet would get pissed.
i thank you bad tattoo blogger guy.

  • atari

that atari logo is a tattoo made to look like its been cut out

  • Anon

What I love about this post (and stumble in my case) is that the responses have more than doubled the length of the post itself! I say just admire the tattoos as a form of art. Who cares if its on a body or paper? Art is still art, and most of those pics are damn good. What’s the point in degrading someones personal choice for mere shadenfruede? Take a good look at yourself before you judge a persons integrity. OH and the Atari logo IS A TATTOO, lawl.

  • http://7sinz.net darling

the atari tattoo is a tattoo, that is supposed to look like a cut. It looks swollen and red because of the shading and OMG red ink. C’mon guys. really.

  • steiner

I loved the comments about the tattoos. These people are all just looking for attention. No, you can’t just do something really great, you need to put a bunch of crap all over your body to draw attention. Keep up the good work.

  • Robbie

It’s too bad that girl has the Konami code wrong —- it’s “B, A, start”. not “A, B, start” oops….. surprised nobody caught that!!

  • Zack

the colors on that single sleeve are phenomenal. If you don’t like it, you obviously have no idea the amount of joy that video games have brought and will bring to millions of humans.

  • Astrozombie

    you are a dumbass

and the SINGLE sleeve tat is awsome

  • Pingback: Up, Down, Left, Right, A, B, Start

Stumbletastic…beautiful stuff!except for the lvl up on e…too many E’s that month me thinks..club land has a bit too answer for there I reckon

  • dsaf

    ur not funny…
you should not try to make these pictures funny…
they either work for your purposes or they don’t, and you only seem to anger viewers…
I didn’t read any comments that commended your ‘commentary,’ I could only find ones that condemned it.
    Stop trying to be Cracked.com…

  • Anonymous

what an idiot bashing tattoos , go fuck yourself

  • X

    this is madness!

  • http://andrew-owns-agloco.blogspot.com Andrew

These are pretty bad, I agree. The ones with cut away skin is plain gross.

  • Sterling

Looks like the Atari one is a tat that is made to look like a fresh brand. My friend has ink in that style, but not the Atari symbol.

  • Pangamma

personally, I thought this was pretty funny. good job.

  • douchbaggery indeed

The modblog tat is an amazing piece of work. Look at the detail. Tattoos like that are very time consuming and the artist did a great job blending everything together.

The chick with the stars is highly do-able.

Some of those who posted have such closed minds I think the only thing that could pry them open would be a crow bar. It would turn me on to find out. Douchbaggery at it’s finest.

  • http://stupidgamer.com/2008/03/31/because-nobody-asked-for-itbad-gamer-tattoos/ Not_this _blog’s_author

There is some pretty decent ink work among these photos. As usual, a cross-section of tattoo photos like this has some well executed pieces, some average pieces, some poorly executed ideas, some works-in progress, etc.
I don’t know if anyone has pointed it out, but that is one arm sleeved, it’s just a trick of perspective that fooled you there.
And that Atari tattoo is a tattoo. It’s cool, too.
I would like to know what else is going to be added to the level up tattoo, because as it is right now, I guess I just don’t get it, but I know that I don’t know the whole deal on that yet. Where can I see pics of that one as it gets further along?
(@JB)-That chick with the stars, I don’t know who she is, but I’m assuming she’s cool. This girl I know with a star tat on her ear(not a mario star)is officially the hottest chick that I have ever met.
    But I digress.
Even though it’s certain that some people would still have gotten overly defensive about the poking of fun at gamer tats, it would have gone over better if it had some humor in it. Something funny would have really helped this piece to be what it was apparently meant to be.
I think that not only should the overly defensive folks chill out, but also those who are making comments like, ‘unemployable’ and such, apparently in all seriousness, should realize that there is plenty of world that does not see things the way you do. And that basically makes you wrong when you assume that people are going to regret these tattoos because they (presumably) won’t be able to earn a living, or have friends or whatever. Amazing, I know, but apparently there is no certain correlation between tattoos and jobs, or significant others, or friends or whatever. Who knew? Knowing is half the battle though, so maybe making an effort to know is worth it sometimes.

  • kyle

ok the tatoos are bad but the fact is they will be regreted and i would allso liek to point out the atari one is not a tat or cut skin its a burn its really not that hard to figure out leik gawd ha i cant type worth poop go me

  • kyle

the regret thing some may not but soem withh i knwo id be liek sweet at some poitn abotu a tatoo liek that but later on id be liek hmm sept ZELDA woudl never regret it…unless it was doen bad but then id just liek beat the shit out of the tatooer an dmy self for going to him/her

  • http://300baud.livejournal.com/ 300baud

I don’t really like tatoos, but I gotta meet the Atari girl.

  • Anonymous

Wow, you got a lot of negative comments. All of which I agree with. (Well not really all, I didn’t read them all.)

I work at a shop (I’m not a tattoo artist, but I handle the appointments and customers), and I’d have to say that most of these tattoos are of poorer quality work than I’m used to. Some of them are alright. And chances are, some of them are because the people went in and said “I want this exactly.”

    Also, it’s vitamin A&D ointment. Not E.

And if you’re going to give a negative judgment on something, make sure you back it up. Or else, obviously, people are going to rip into you.

Hope all that was nice, constructive, and helpful.

    Tool.

  • Read Before You Comment Assholes!

Wow, how many douchbags need to point out the same errors over and over again before they figure out that what they’re saying has been said already? Oh, wait…they probably can’t READ. Nevermind.

  • Jennifer

I have but one thing to say, Whether you are a gamer or not or a tattoo lover, if you don’t like what you see…Move The Fuck On!!!!!! Nuff said!

  • TINK

i have a few things to say i have a 2 tatoo and in managment and i have to say a tatoo doesn’t stop you from working make you stupid..the only thing that makes you from those things is the person themselfs.there are a lot of awesome tatoo’s out there and just because you can just have all day to look at pictures to sit and pick on since you have no life! it is sad to see that you need to talk about something you have no clue what the reasons they are
    1 FACT

there is only one person that you have to answere to
    and that is GOD
or whoever you beleive in I however beleive in GOD and he is the one i will answere to when he askes me why!

  • oh i can’t resist mischief

hmmm the ATARI IS a tattoo –LOOK AT THE GLARE OF LIGHT ON THE EDGE…smooth…. also, you can’t say for certain the person with a really “bad tattoo” regrets it even if it’s horrible to you.

To the poster above. You’d hate my beautiful script tattoos that advertise a “godless, creator less” religion, and you know they’re actually pretty friend. Stop using God as an excuse to try and throw shame at people.

  • TINK

wasn’t throwing shame at anyone all i stated that there is only one person who anyone answeres to and that was him there is no reason why any one should sit here and bash people saying there losers if they have a tatoo and that as in one post there losers and they stop you from getting a job or ruin ur chances for a job i for one sticking up for the ones that want to sit here and bash tatoos i for one love them and i think that if you can’t get a job than it has nothing to do with the tatoo it is the person themselves.and send me a pic of your tatoo that you would hate becasue right there you are puttign words in my mouth why because you have “godless, creator less” religion and if you noticed in my comment i stated there is only one person that you have to answere to
    and that is GOD
or whoever you beleive in I however beleive in GOD and he is the one i will answere to when he askes me why!

nothing on there stated that i was using god as an excuse i stated i did beleive i even stated read again or whoever you beleive in that also means whatever you beleive in and that was my point

  • j`111

the guy that made that ffVII tattoo did a pretty good job.

  • ~ME

    This was so funny….
People just need to calm down- Agree dont agree whatever.
