I found FF8’s love story contrived with horrid characters wrapped around a crappy RPG. Squall should have been pushed out of Balamb Garden while it was in mid-air. He sucked.
On that note I enjoyed MGS3’s love story between Snake (Big Boss) and Eve was pretty good with its Bond-like elements.
