The Stupid Gamer

The Xbox 360 is seeing an official bundle in Japan next month when Devil May Cry 4 hits. This is actually pretty significant, because DMC4 was once touted as a killer exclusive for the PS3. By now most gamers know that the game is on both the 360 and the PS3, but seeing the game bundled with the 360 has to have some sort of psychological impact.

Will it propel the 360 to higher sales in Japan? Probably not, but it’s a good move for Microsoft in Japan regardless of immediate sales potential. They need to show the Japanese market that Japanese developers are backing the 360 in a big way. This would have been a cool bundle here in the US, but I think we’re more likely to see something with a stronger Western flavor if we see any new bundles at all in early 2008.
