Zack & Wiki - A Surprise Must Buy Title?

Many members of the industry have been quietly pushing Capcom’s Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure as a must-have title for the Wii. The boys over at IGN have been running a “Buy Zack & Wiki” campaign, and now 1up’s review has come in with glowing results (9.0). While I had expected good things from the title, it’s starting to look like it’s a game that I simply can’t pass on.

Thanks for the image, IGN.
So what’s the game all about? Basically the game is a point and click puzzler. It’s something that I’m surprised we haven’t seen more of on the Wii, but I’m sure that it will spawn a whole bunch of similar titles, especially if it’s successful. The press is touting the puzzle and level design as imaginative and challenging. I don’t typically get caught up in hype trains and movements, but it seems that there might just be something there for this game. We’ll know if it lives up to the hype as more reviews come rolling in and the game hits shelves soon.

If someone sends it to me, I’ll send you free Mangoes. And green ones at that!

There are way too many games I want this fall so I’m letting this one go for a little while.

I’m playing it and it’s really great. If you liked the old adventure PC games or just good puzzles in general, you are going to LOVE this. At first it was a bit slow but it gets going nicely and soon you are totally addicted.

Good to hear, Jon. I’m hoping to give it a go this weekend. I think it’s probably a good title to play with my wife.

The motion control aspects of the game are tedious, and it’s not really that funny or charming. I was extremely disappointed.. plays like a free flash game.
